Mitch Day and Jess Hey

Central Aquatic's First Olympian

As you are all aware I'm sure, as you would have been watching them last week the Olympic Trials were on. This is a time where we get to see all of idols race for their dream to be on the Olympic team. Sally Foster did us proud, she swam 2nd fastest for the 200m breaststroke behind Leisel Jones, which has landed her a spot on the team.

Sally also swam in the 50 and 100m Free as well as the 100m Breaststroke. In the 100m breaststroke she swam a time of 1.10.03 which saw her finish 6th overall. Sally came 9th in the 100m free in a time of 55.92 and in the 50m she swam 25.21 which placed her 5th overall. But her event that she wanted to qualify in for the Olympics was the 200m breaststroke. In the prelims she qualified 4th fastest in a time of 2.33.30 and then in the semi-finals she dropped to 5th fastest qualifier but she informed her father she had it under control in which she did because in the final she came 2nd in a time of 2.25.70.

So it's official Central Aquatic Swimming and Lifesaving Club can say we have an Olympian. Huge congratulations to Sally and her family. We are all very proud.
